David Levison | President and CEO
David Levison


David Levison is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of CardioDx. Prior to launching CardioDx, David was a Venture Partner at Texas Pacific Group Ventures and was the interim Chief Executive Officer of XDx, Inc., a molecular diagnostic company focused on the immune system. Previously, he was the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of iScribe, a healthcare technology company acquired by AdvancePCS (now Caremark) in December 2001. Prior to iScribe, David was President of Oncology Therapeutics Network (OTN), which was acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1996. David also served as Chief Financial Officer of OTN's parent company, Axion, from 1990 to 1993. Prior to Axion, he was with Cole Gilburne Fund, an early stage, technology-focused venture capital firm. David received his M.B.A. from Stanford University and B.S. from Williams College.

Steven Rosenberg, Ph.D. | Chief Scientific Officer
Steve Rosenberg


Steven Rosenberg joined CardioDx in 2006 and is responsible for the scientific staff and research and development programs in the areas of genomics, genetics, and informatics. Prior to joining CardioDx, Steven served for three years as the Chief Scientific Officer of XDx, Inc., a molecular diagnostics company focused on diseases of the immune system. He led the group responsible for developing AlloMap, a molecular diagnostic for heart transplant patients, the first genomics-based test in transplant immunology. In addition, Steve is currently on the Board of Directors of KMT Hepatech.  Prior to XDx, Steven spent a year as a consultant and visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. From 1981 to 2001 he was at Chiron Corporation, where he was named one of only three Chiron Research Fellows in the company's history. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and is the author of more than 40 scientific publications and an inventor on more than 20 United States  patents.

Mark Monane, M.D. | Chief Medical Officer
Mark Monane

Mark Monane joined CardioDx in 2011 as Chief Medical Officer. He previously held a position as managing director of equity research for Needham & Company for 11 years, focusing on analyses of emerging biotechnology companies in the cardiovascular and cancer areas. Prior to joining Needham, Monane was senior director of medical policy and practices at Medco Health Solutions. Prior to Medco, Monane was assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health, where he completed fellowship training in geriatrics, clinical pharmacology, and clinical effectiveness. He holds an A.B. and an M.B.A. from Columbia University, an M.S. degree in Health Policy from Harvard University, and an M.D. from New York University.

Andrew Guggenhime | Chief Financial Officer
Andrew Guggenhime

Andrew Guggenhime joined CardioDx in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer. He holds more than 10 years of CFO experience, including more than nine years as a public company CFO.  Most recently he served as CFO for Calistoga Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a privately held biotechnology company acquired in April 2011 by Gilead Sciences.  Prior to Calistoga Pharmaceuticals, Andrew served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Facet Biotech Corporation, a publicly held company acquired by Abbott Laboratories in April 2010.  He also served as CFO for publicly held PDL BioPharma, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, and Neoforma, Inc., a provider of supply chain management solutions for the health care industry.  Andrew began his career in financial services at Merrill Lynch & Co. and Wells Fargo & Company. He holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.M. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Deborah L. Kilpatrick, Ph.D. | Senior Vice President, Commercial
Deborah Kilpatrick


Deborah Kilpatrick joined CardioDx in 2006 as Vice President, Market Development, with responsibility for building the marketing and reimbursement capabilities of the company. She currently oversees commercial functions that include product marketing, managed care marketing and sales, customer service, and public relations. Prior to joining CardioDx she spent 9 years at the Vascular Intervention Division of Guidant Corporation where her roles included Research Fellow, Director of Research and Technology Development, and Director of New Ventures. Deborah serves on the Advisory Boards for the Georgia Institute of Technology and its College of Engineering. She is on the Board of Directors for the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. Deborah has received a Rising Star award from the Healthcare Businesswoman's Association and a Spotlight Award from the Professional Women's Healthcare Alliance. Deborah holds multiple U.S. patents and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering with a focus in cardiovascular bioengineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Eric Sandberg | Vice President, Sales
Eric Sandberg


Eric Sandberg joined CardioDx in October of 2008 as Vice President, Sales. He has 14 years of experience in the medical technology industry with Guidant Corporation and Boston Scientific in a variety of sales, marketing, and business development leadership roles. Most recently, he held Sales Director positions in the Vascular Intervention and Cardiac Rhythm Management divisions. Eric's early career was spent with Eli Lilly and Company in various engineering roles. He received his B.S., magna cum laude, in mechanical engineering from Bradley University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Susan Daniels, Ph.D. | Vice President, Development
Susan Daniels


Susan Daniels joined CardioDx in 2004 and is responsible for the development of the company's genomic testing products. She has over 17 years experience in the genomics industry. Prior to CardioDx, Susan was the Vice President of Curation Sciences at Incyte, where she was responsible for managing the development of genomic information products. In that role, Susan managed several multimillion-dollar drug discovery and target validation collaborations with pharmaceutical companies. Prior to Incyte, Susan was a senior scientist at Axys Pharmaceuticals (formerly Sequana Therapeutics), where she managed projects focused on mapping genes linked to complex inflammatory disorders. Her postdoctoral research was carried out at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics at Oxford University. There she completed a genome-wide linkage analysis study that led to the identification of a number of genes associated with asthma. Susan received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Wales, Cardiff, in the United Kingdom.

Diane M. Johnson, R.N. | Vice President, Managed Care Sales
Diane Johnson


Diane Johnson joined CardioDx in 2011 with the responsibility of driving health care provider and patient access to the product portfolio in the U.S. managed care marketplace. She leads a payer sales organization focused on securing favorable coverage policies and managed care contracts for all CardioDx products. Diane has an extensive background in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology for coronary disease and cardiac arrhythmia through her roles at Knoll Pharmaceutical Company and Biovail Corporation. Before joining CardioDx, Diane most recently developed and commercialized payer strategies for CV Therapeutics and served as Senior Director of National Accounts in the managed care sales organization for Gilead Sciences. She began her career as a coronary nurse in Ohio, where she completed her nursing training at St. Elizabeth Health Center and Youngstown State University.
