Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) is an active venture capital partnership headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area with a large capital base for investment. Since 1972, KPCB has invested in over 400 technology companies which have accrued market valuations exceeding $164 billion, achieved combined revenues of over $81 billion, and created over 279,000 jobs. In this process, KPCB has been privileged to work with some of the most outstanding entrepreneurs, Chief Executive Officers, and management teams in the United States.

TPG Biotech is part of the venture capital investment platform of TPG, a global private investment firm. With more than $900 million under management, TPG Biotech targets investments in life science, biotechnology, renewables, and medical technology companies. The Biotech group is supported by the resources of TPG which has more than $50 billion of assets under management.

MDV (Mohr Davidow Ventures) has been a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm for 25 years. The firm funds and mentors entrepreneurs, scientists and young companies involved in redefining business, technology and medicine. MDV invests around three major themes: Personalizing Medicine; Powering the Planet; and Driving the Digital World. The firm partners with entrepreneurs to transform healthcare through the use of more meaningful and personalized information. MDV’s team engages very early in the life of a company to impact its long-term success. MDV has $2 billion dollars under management.

Intel Capital, Intel's global investment organization, makes equity investments in innovative technology start-ups and companies worldwide. Intel Capital invests in a broad range of companies offering hardware, software, and services targeting enterprise, home, mobility, health, consumer Internet, semiconductor manufacturing and cleantech.  

Pappas Ventures is a Research Triangle Park, North Carolina-based venture capital firm that invests nationally in the life science industry. Founded in 1994, Pappas has over $350 million under management, and is currently investing out of its fourth venture capital fund. Among the firm’s more than 40 portfolio companies are Arena Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ARNA), NuVasive (Nasdaq: NUVA), Panacos (Nasdaq: PANC), Peninsula Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Johnson & Johnson), Cerexa (acquired by Forest Laboratories), Syntonix Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Biogen Idec), and CoLucid Pharmaceuticals. The firm's primary investment focus is on product-oriented biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, with a secondary focus on medical technologies.
