Patient Selection

Corus® CAD is intended for use in the following nondiabetic stable patients that a clinician suspects may have coronary artery disease (CAD):

Symptomatic Patients


Typical symptoms suggestive of CAD may include:
  • Chest discomfort, tightness, pain, or pressure
  • Shortness of breath
Atypical symptoms suggestive of CAD may include: (To be suggestive of obstructive CAD, these symptoms should be concurrent with at least one CAD risk factor)
  • Tightness or pressure in the throat, jaw, shoulder, abdomen, back or arm
  • Squeezing, heaviness, or burning sensation in the upper body
  • Abdominal discomfort or fullness
  • Indigestion or heartburn
  • Nausea
  • Unexplained fatigue or physical weakness
  • Palpitations

Asymptomatic High-Risk Patients

  • Patients with a recent positive or inconclusive test result (ECG, ETT, Echo, MPI, CTA, Calcium Score)
and/or
  • Patients with 3 or more major risk factors for CAD (e.g., high cholesterol, hypertension, family history, smoker, morbid obesity, known non-cardiac vascular disease, male ≥ 50, female ≥ 60)

Non-Intended Patients


This test is not intended for patients:
  • With known prior myocardial infarction, or who have had a revascularization procedure
  • Younger than 21 or older than 99 years of age
  • With diabetes
  • Who are asymptomatic and not considered at high risk for CAD
