Corus CAD for Women

Your symptoms may indicate a blockage in your heart, or they may not.
Now, there’s a simple blood test that can tell.

Corus® CAD is a personalized blood test that tells your doctor whether or not you have a blockage in your heart, also known as obstructive* coronary artery disease (CAD).

You can exhibit different symptoms than men, such as shortness of breath, heartburn, chest tightness or even unexplained fatigue. These symptoms suggestive of obstructive CAD are more varied and less obvious than the symptoms men often exhibit, which makes diagnosing their root cause more difficult. In addition, traditional stress tests don’t account for the biological differences between men and women, which is the reason you need a diagnostic test for CAD specifically designed for you.

Now, a simple blood test can help provide the answer.

Corus CAD is the only sex-specific test designed to help your doctor exclude the diagnosis of blocked arteries in your heart as the cause of your symptoms. The test is simple and convenient and, most importantly, takes into consideration the key biological differences between men and women.

Avoid invasive and time-consuming procedures.

With Corus CAD, your doctor may be able to confidently exclude a blockage in your heart without the need for additional testing, including imaging involving radiation and even invasive procedures or surgery. Not only does this help you achieve peace of mind sooner, but avoiding these tests can help you minimize exposure to potentially unnecessary and harmful radiation.

How it works and how it’s performed.

Corus CAD is performed right in your doctor’s office and requires only a small, routine blood draw. The blood sample is then shipped to the CardioDx laboratory for analysis, and results will be sent to your doctor within 72 hours.

Corus CAD works by measuring the activity of specific genes in your blood that change when there is a blockage in your arteries. The effectiveness of the test has been validated in a large US clinical trial called PREDICT.1

Corus CAD is intended for patients who:

  • Are NOT diabetic
  • Complain of symptoms that may indicate signs of blocked arteries in the heart (e.g., shortness of breath, heartburn, chest tightness, unexplained fatigue)
  • Have not been diagnosed with a heart attack, or had a previous invasive procedure to open a blocked artery
  • Are not currently taking steroids, immunosuppressive agents or chemotherapeutic agents
Please talk with you healthcare provider to find out if Corus CAD is right for you.

* Obstructive CAD is defined as at least one atherosclerotic plaque causing ≥50% luminal diameter stenosis in a major coronary artery (≥1.5 mm lumen diameter) as determined by invasive quantitative coronary angiography (QCA).
